(CMS) ranks every licensed nursing facility on their performance covering a three-year review of health inspections, staffing levels, and the facilityвАЩs score on 10 quality measures. This information is used to rate facilities from a one star (lowest) to a five star (highest).

Gateway Senior Living Honored With National Award Recognizing Their Significant Commitment In The Delivery Of Quality Care. Gateway Senior Living has been recognized as a 2010 recipient of the Bronze Commitment to Quality National Quality Award presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), a trade organization with approximately 11,000 members nationwide.
This year 701 nursing homes and assisted living communities from across the nation applied for the Bronze Quality Award and Gateway Senior Living was one of only 5 organizations in the State of Nebraska to receive the award, and the only facility in the Lincoln area.
The National Quality Award Program is based on the core values and criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program. It provides a pathway for providers of long term and post-acute care services to journey towards performance excellence. Applications are reviewed by Examiners who have received special training to qualify as judges for the award program.

NCAL is proud to announce that one of its membersвАФGateway Senior Living, is the recipient of the Center for Excellence in Assisted LivingвАЩs (CEALвАЩs) Programming in Excellence Workforce Award for its innovative approach to staff.
Amy Fish, Gateway's administrator, accepted the award on behalf of Gateway at CEAL's Fifth Anniversary Celebration in Washington, D.C. Gateway Senior Living was one of five CEAL award winners. CEAL was established in 2004 as a collaborative entity comprised of 11 national stakeholder organizations. NCAL was one of the 11 founding organizations.
